Lower Peaks combines melodic indie rock riffs with post rock energy to make songs that ebb and flow from intricate instrumental passages to roaring choruses. With years of experience from playing in a variety of Asheville bands, the members combine their interests in crafting rhythmic grooves, creating atmospheric sounds, and exploring alternative song structures, which all results in an energetic live show.

The band started in November 2022 and has played shows in various venues around Asheville, including Eulogy, Sly Grog, and Fleetwood's.

Recordings

The Balances EP was released June 20, 2025 and recorded and engineered by Kevin Boggs at Loc Level Sound. It was produced by the band and Kevin Boggs, and mastered by Adam Matza / Magic Ears Mastering. It's available on all major streaming platforms.
